Hi everyone, and welcome to my site. I found the following items in my e-mail the other day and thought I would share them with you.

The Butterfly

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared; he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther.

Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were nature's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If nature allowed us to go through our life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. And we could never fly if we did not learn from these struggles. This is what keeps us strong enough to bear the ups and downs of life.

Spread your wings and fly..........

Words of Wisdom

Follow these simple rules for unhappiness.

First, you must make sure that all the little, insignificant things in life bother you. Don't just leave it to chance. Sit down and get worked up over things that really don't matter at all.

Next, make sure that you lose your perspective on things. At all costs, make mountains out of molehills, and make crises out of the regular happenings of daily life.

When your done with that, get yourself into a good state of worry. Make sure that when you pick something to worry about, you choose something you know you can do absolutely nothing about. This will ensure your failure and cost you a lot of time you can't afford, and then you can worry about that.

When you are ready, launch out into the world of perfectionism. Condemn yourself and others for not being able to achieve an unachieveable goal. When you make a mistake, rail against yourself.

After you have mastered perfectionism, you'll be ready to be right all the time. Be rigid in your rightness. Never allow for anyone else's perspectives.

The next step --- never trust anyone; never believe in anyone. Look for everyone's weakness, and concentrate on that. Always think poorly of yourself. Never think that you are good enough for anyone or anything.

Anything that happens to you must be taken personally at all times. And never totally give yourself to anyone or anything.
